All Women Are Dangerous II curated by Marisa Caichiolo is the second edition of an exhibition featuring the work of women photographers. The exhibition revisits the exploration of self identity and issues of gender presentation and highlights the rise of female contemporary artists. Through stunning imagery, each work sheds light on some of the most pressing issues facing each artist in hopes of starting a dialog around the question: are all women dangerous?

When we talk about women’s movements we talk about a series of political campaigns for reforms on issues such as reproductive rights, domestic violence, maternity leave, equal pay, women’s suffrage, sexual harassment, and sexual violence, all of which fall under the label of the feminist movement. The first-wave feminism was oriented around middle- or upper-class white women and involved suffrage and political equality. The second-wave feminism was combating social and cultural inequalities. The current movement  is addressing the financial, social and cultural inequalities which includes having women in politics and media and also focusing on women’s reproductive rights, such as the right to abortion.

“The exhibition focuses on the use of photography as a vehicle to explore all the issues of gender presentation and also self identity exploration,” stated Marisa Caichiolo, curator. “While some of the featured artists have a conceptual or experimental approach, others have opted for the traditional photographic process. The common thread is that they all have established a very intimate and personal photographic discussion.”
