Laura Ayala  is an art curator and researcher focused on perspectives from the periphery. With a Master’s in Modern and Contemporary Art from Casa Lamm and a degree in Industrial Design from the University of Guadalajara, she has also strengthened her expertise through specialized training in museum management, exhibition management, and collections, as well as a Critical Thinking course from SmithsonianX.

For over forty years, she has worked in cultural promotion. Between 2003 and 2022, she was part of the team at Mexico’s Museo de las Artes de la Universidad de Guadalajara (MUSA), serving as coordinator of outreach and international exhibitions (2003–2013) and later as coordinator of exhibitions and education (2013–2019). In these roles, she organized more than fifty national and international exhibitions, developed the museum’s educational program, and curated multiple displays.

 

She currently works independently on curatorial projects and collaborates with visual artists. Her research includes two ongoing studies—one on the mural work of José Clemente Orozco and another on the work of Luis Barragán. She is also the author of 525 grams. Jill Magid: The Transformation of Luis Barragán (Editorial Artes de México). Since 2024, she has been a member of the UC–Mexicanistas association.

Marisa Caichiolo @marisacaichiolo @mcla.curatorial is an artist and curator, her research focuses primarily on the impact on social and political changes in society. She focuses on cultural exchanges researching cultural production fluctuating between theory and practice.such as Venice Biennale 2026 (Italy), Cuenca Biennial, Cuenca (Ecuador), the Casablanca Biennale, Morocco 2026; Sharjah Biennale, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates; among others. And curating projects in important institutions and projects like PST Getty Museum LA/LA for Museum Muzeo, DOX Contemporary Art Center Prague, Katara Cultural Center, Qatar among many others. Currently she is the co-curator of the Chilean Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2026 representing artist Norton Maza.
