2026 BUILDING BRIDGES
TRAVELING ARTISTS RESIDENCIES

This Traveling Artists Residencies initiative began with the Foundation Building Bridges’ 20th anniversary celebration.

Our first program is a partnership between Building Bridges Art Foundation, the City of Torrijos,

and La Neomudéjar Museum in Madrid.

From America to Torrijos: The mural that changes the bus station.

The City Hall, La Neomudéjar Museum (Madrid), and the California-based Building Bridges Foundation have joined forces to enable muralist Marco Miranda to complete a 40-meter work during his residency between Madrid and Torrijos, Spain.

The mural was unveiled during Holy Week in Teresa Enríquez. The renowned Mexican muralist Marco Miranda, a key figure in the Baja California scene, has begun a 40-meter linear intervention at the Torrijos bus station. This work, dedicated to the illustrious Teresa Enríquez, adds to the important urban-art heritage promoted by the City Council over the years. Torrijos already has a history of splendid murals by celebrated authors, such as Torrijeño Dan Ferrer, who has recently brought his art to cities like Dallas (USA). Miranda’s work fits into this “urban gallery” that residents and visitors can now enjoy on the streets of the municipality. This project results from a strategic collaboration between the City Hall’s Culture Department, La Neomudéjar Museum (Madrid), and the California-based Building Bridges Art Exchange foundation, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Thanks to the agreement between the Red Arthouse network and the American foundation, Torrijos has been selected for this international residency. Furthermore, this solid cultural project includes the Planning, Urbanism and Works, and Tourism and Heritage departments, as the synergies generated aim not only to enrich the heritage but also to boost the town as a regional tourist attraction.
