BUILDING BRIDGES PODCAST

We’re excited to announce the upcoming episode of Building Bridges @buildingbridges_ax: Global Voices in the Arts! Join us for a though full conversation on how art shapes societies and fosters cross-cultural collaboration.

Don’t miss our second episode on July 2nd featuring Norton Maza @nortonmaza artist currently representing Chile at the Venice Biennale @labiennale in the Arsenale and Marisa Caichiolo @marisacaichiolo a co curator of the Chilean Pavilion at Venice Biennale.

Norton Maza @nortonmaza was born in the commune of Lautaro, Araucanía Region, South America, in 1971. He was exiled to France with his family in 1975, after two and a half years of imprisonment of his father, as a direct consequence of the coup d’état that took place there. He remained in France until 1980, when he crossed the Atlantic again to Cuba, where he began his art studies in 1983. In 1985 he entered the National School of Art ‘ENA’ where he graduated in 1989. He continued his higher studies in Art at the School of Fine Arts in Bordeaux-France until 1994. He returned to his native country where he is currently developing his work, which is linked to a fine exploration of the socio-cultural and political contrasts determined by globalisation. His work, highly committed, embraces, in an ironic way and charged with an unparalleled sensitivity, the expressly raw and emotional reality with which he has to interact.

Marisa Caichiolo @marisacaichiolo @mcla.curatorial is an artist and curator, her research focuses primarily on the impact on social and political changes in society. She focuses on cultural exchanges researching cultural production fluctuating between theory and practice.such as Venice Biennale 2026 (Italy), Cuenca Biennial, Cuenca (Ecuador), the Casablanca Biennale, Morocco 2026; Sharjah Biennale, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates; among others. And curating projects in important institutions and projects like PST Getty Museum LA/LA for Museum Muzeo, DOX Contemporary Art Center Prague, Katara Cultural Center, Qatar among many others.
