Building Bridges Art Exchange welcomes our newest artists in residence, Karen Perry and Jacobo Alonso of Mexico to produce a new body of work in situ at BBAX Gallery. Visit us to view the artists in action!

Karen Perry was born in Mexico City. She studied the Bachelor of Fine Arts at the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving "La Esmeralda" INBA, at the National Center of Arts in Mexico City, where she worked as a teacher in academic extension in Graphic Workshops Program from 2007 to 2009. From 2012 to 2016, she was a professor at the University of Baja California (Art Degree) and from 2016 to the present, she has been teaching at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Art and Design Degree). She is a grant holder of the Young Creators Grant, Sculpture, National Fund for Culture and Arts (FONCA) 2012-2013 and 2015-2016.
Jacobo Alonso was born in Mexico. He has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Baja California, Mexico and is currently working as a professor at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México campus Morelia. He is a grant holder of the Young Creators Grant, Sculpture, National Fund for Culture and Arts, FONCA 2016 - 2017. From 2014-2015, he studied at the University of Rennes 2, France and recently he held a residence at ARTELES Creative Center, Haukijärvi, Finland. He has participated in different exhibitions in Mexico, Finland, France, United States, England, Italy, Hungary and Germany. His work is part of the International Collection Bugatti - Segantini, Italy, and LUMEN Collection, Mexico. He lives and works in Michoacán, Mexico.
