SPOTLIGHT: The Broad's New Diversity Initiative

This summer, The Broad launched the Diversity Apprenticeship Program (DAP). The DAP provides full-time, paid apprenticeships in art handling to people from groups underrepresented on museum staffs. After a month of intensive training, our first group of apprentices is now working at partner sites across the city (including LACMA, the California African American Museum, Building Bridges Art Exchange and others) to gain hands-on work experience. Learn more about how The Broad is creating industry-wide change, and meet two of the apprentices, Nya Abudu and Vanessa Garcia.

Apprentices left to right: Lillian Wimberly, Eduardo Camacho, Lance Bad Heart Bull, trainer/mentor Ernesto Ceja, Nya Abudu, Vanessa Garcia, Andrea Perez-Martinez, Alicia Teele, Annamarie Leon and trainer/mentor Jack Williams
