Building Bridges Art Exchange (BBAX) in collaboration with the National YoungArts Foundation presents an exhibition of works by 2017 YoungArts Winners in Design Arts, Photography and Visual Arts as part of the organization's regional program, YoungArts Los Angeles.

For these 18 promising young artists, the opportunity to show their work and engage the public in their artistic interrogations of the world is a vital part of the YoungArts experience. This exhibit, curated by John Tain, is a celebration of our winners and of the parents, teachers and mentors who guide and support them. Preparation for regional programming is a year-round practice that depends upon the knowledge and commitment of a vast network of artists, teachers and educators. We are honored by the energy and generosity of the many master artists who join us throughout the process and make these programs possible.

The YoungArts Los Angeles exhibition presents works in a wide range of artistic media such as collage, assemblage, painting, photography and sculpture. The pieces selected by Tain - often very personal to the artists - are meant to participate in multi-layered conversations on a variety of topics such as current affairs, gender identity, race relations, history, conceptualism in art, contemporary architecture, and the environment.
